In Japan, Tateshina Meeting Discusses Realizing Zero Traffic Accident Casualties

The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), an independent non-profit foundation, along with its partners, the Thailand Ministry of Transport, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and the Chulalongkorn University, held their closing event of The Rama4 Model: Unlocking Traffic Data for a Better Tomorrow (Rama4 Model) to announce the learnings and recommendations from their 3.5 year project using human centric data to seek means of easing congestion in Bangkok. The project began in November 2019, focused on Rama4 road as the targeted testing environment, to gather data and gain insights into the effective usage of data in mitigating traffic congestion and enhancing traffic management. -

Together In Motion Indiana Contactless Delivery Service Has Launched in Central Indiana

The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and Energy Systems Network (ESN) have joined with Udelv, a leader in multi-stop last- and mid-mile delivery vehicles, to provide services to two non-profit organizations in central Indiana under TMF’s Together in Motion initiative. The delivery vehicle was launched in Indianapolis on November 5th, 2021 and has enabled HATCH for Hunger and Southeast Community Services to provide essential goods to community members and food pantry partners. The rising necessity of contactless delivery throughout the coronavirus pandemic led TMF to explore implementation of advanced goods delivery methodologies. The service will end at the beginning of May 2022. -

The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), Energy Systems Network (ESN), the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), and the City of Fishers have joined with May Mobility, a leader in autonomous vehicle (AV) technology and shuttle operations, to inaugurate a free, public autonomous shuttle service on December 20, 2021 to serve the area surrounding the Nickel Plate Cultural District in Fishers, Ind. The AV shuttle service is part of the Together in Motion Indiana initiative announced earlier this year by TMF and ESN that previously provided a similar autonomous shuttle service in downtown Indianapolis for six months. -

The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), Energy Systems Network (ESN), and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), have joined with May Mobility, a leader in autonomous vehicle (AV) technology and shuttle operations, to inaugurate the launch of a free autonomous shuttle service in Central Indiana. The service, a part of TMF’s Together in Motion Indiana, began on June 1, 2021 and serves the downtown Indianapolis and Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) communities. Together in Motion is an initiative bringing stakeholders together to test the interoperability of mobility innovations and facilitates the efficient movement of people and goods. The autonomous shuttle service supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Sustainable Cities and Communities goal (#11), as well as Toyota’s commitment to providing Mobility for All. -

Today, the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and Energy Systems Network (ESN) designates May Mobility and Udelv as the first two deployments of the Future Mobility District initiative. The Future Mobility District initiative, established in collaboration with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), aims to foster innovation through industry partnerships and propel research and development in advanced mobility technologies in Indiana. -
